You may register and pay the registration fee online. If you wish to register by mail, read the following information carefully before completing the enclosed registration form. Registration ProceduresRegistering for the Psychometric Entrance Test and applying to an educational institution are two separate procedures. Applying to an educational institution does not constitute registration for the Psychometric Test; similarly, registering for the test does not constitute application to an educational institution. It is not necessary to apply to an educational institution in order to take the test. You need take the test only once, even if you are applying to more than one educational institution. Your scores will be forwarded to all the institutions of your choice. If you have an Israeli identity card or a valid passport, you are eligible to take the Psychometric Test. The registration documentation for the Psychometric Entrance Test can be purchased in all the university bookstores, at Steimatzky, Tzomet Sfarim, and other bookstores, or by contacting the National Institute for Testing and Evaluation directly. Validity of Test ResultsTest results are valid for university admissions purposes for at least seven years. Detailed information is available in the guides issued by the various institutions. How often can you take the test? There is no limit to the number of times you may take the Psychometric Test. However, you may not take it on two consecutive test dates. The table below shows when you can retake the test:
If you retake the test earlier than the permitted date, the second test will be invalidated. To be retested, you will have to wait the requisite time interval from the date of the invalid test. No exceptions will be made. The educational institutions generally use the applicant's highest test score. You should, however, verify this with each institution to which you are applying. Upcoming test dates
*Registration forms must reach the National Institute for Testing and Evaluation (NITE) by this date. A registration form that arrives after the deadline will be processed for the subsequent test date. Consult the institutions to which you are applying to ensure that the test date you have chosen is appropriate for the academic year for which you wish to register and for the department(s) of your choice. Test locationsYou may state your preference regarding the test location most convenient for you from among the locations offered, regardless of the institutions to which you have applied. Your scores will be forwarded to all the institutions of your choice. The earlier you register, the more likely it is that your preferences can be taken into account. If there is no place available at the location of your choice, you will be assigned to the nearest alternative. The test is usually administered in university lecture halls. These halls vary in terms of size, seating facilities, etc. You are required to take the test in the lecture hall to which you are assigned. During the test, use of the following is strictly prohibited: calculators (including those on wristwatches), alarm clocks, cellular telephones, beepers, electronic instruments of any kind, dictionaries, books, papers or any other study aids. Smoking is prohibited in the lecture halls. Taking the test outside IsraelThe Psychometric Test is administered in several locations in Europe, the U.S. and South America (depending on the number of applicants). The registration forms and fees for these tests are different from those in Israel. For additional information, contact the Overseas Tests Unit at NITE.

Registration of this type necessitates special arrangements and therefore costs two and a half times (250%) the regular test fee. The following conditions also apply:
Note: Due to the expense and the fact that places are not guaranteed, this form of registration is not recommended and is intended for emergency situations only. Summons for retestingDuring the scoring process, standard checks are conducted to ensure that scores accurately reflect examinees' ability. In certain cases, NITE may encounter difficulties in evaluating a test, for example, because of irregular or inconsistent test results or technical problems. In the event of any doubt as to a test's reliability, for any test date and for any reason, including those mentioned above, an examinee may be summoned to retake the test at NITE's offices in Jerusalem. Test scores will be withheld until all doubts as to their validity have been clarified by means of retesting. A written summons for retesting is generally sent to such examinees within six weeks of the test date; however, such a summons may also be issued at a later date. Inquiries and comments
